Don and I stayed in Anchorage for a couple more days and
then headed south towards Homer where we would catch a ferry to Kodiak.
We stopped for one night at the US Forest
Service Williwaw Campground in Portage Valley.
We took the Portage Glacier cruise, which at just $29 is a great
bargain. It was cold and windy but a
beautiful one-hour cruise.
The next day
we drove to Homer where the sun was shining and it was much warmer, in the
60s. Coming into Homer was a beautiful
sight, with the sun on the snow covered mountains of the Kenai Peninsula.
