Christmas in North Carolina

We spent the week before Christmas with DJ, Kim, Precious and Hoover in Raleigh.  Don and DJ went to the American Legion a couple times and Kim and I both worked on various knitting projects.  We always have a good time and the days flew by. Of course the prime-rib with roasted vegetables goes a long way to keeping the waist size up.

We then headed to Charlotte to spend Christmas with Donna, Tony, and Rebecca.   We had a very nice pre-Christmas gathering with Tony's family in Newton, NC.

Christmas Day was another family gathering as Tony's parents and his sister and her family all joined us for presents and another wonderful dinner.  It certainly is difficult to stick to a diet with southern cooking during the holidays.

We are now back in Bradenton looking forward to the arrival next week of my Uncle Ralph and Aunt Dorothy from Rochester as they escape the snow and cold weather up north.  We will spend the next few weeks painting the exterior of the house and refinishing our dining room furniture.  Yes we did tell Uncle Ralph about the painting, but he figured it was better than shoveling 3-4 feet of snow.

We hope to head west sometime in February - depending on the weather.
