South Dakota - Rapid City

We arrived back in South Dakota yesterday after a long two-day drive from Great Falls. Last time we were here we spent $2K on new tires.  I'm afraid this trip will be almost as expensive.

We took the coach in to the Freightliner facility to have the hydraulic leak checked.  Were told it was a cracked power steering unit.  The part is now on order and we are hoping it comes in tomorrow.  Oh well, its only money and we can't take it with us when we leave this world.

We really enjoy staying here at Ellsworth AFB, home of the B-1 bomber.  We are camped in the overflow unit right next to the runway where we see, and hear, the magnificent aircraft taking off and landing.  It is our third stay here and we still have a great time.

We visited the Lakota Reservation today and the South Unit of the Badlands National Park.

The views are spectacular and totally out of this world.  We hope to go to the Sioux Indian Pow-wow on Saturday.
