Where has the summer gone? Its hard to believe we have been here for two months. It was a wonderful summer, many days with lots of sunshine, warm waters, and a calm bay. Of course it wouldn't be Chaumont without days of strong winds and rough seas too! Fishing was not good but we managed to catch a couple of nice bass and DJ caught two very nice perch. But we never got enough fish to have a big fish fry dinner. And by Labor Day, the water level was so low we couldn't launch the boat.

We had a lot of fun visiting with family. DJ and Kim joined us in mid-July. Diane, Koby, and Makenna came for a few days, bringing Taylor and her friend with them. Wendy and Marianne came up just twice for a couple days. Cookie and Dennis came twice and Carol and Diane stopped in on their way to and from Quebec City. John had to work a lot of overtime so he was only up a couple times too. Dave and Rick Palmer were there for Labor Day. Matt and Mary came a couple times while Mike and Time stopped in on Labor Day. We caught up with Cindy and her family at Victoria's graduation party. And we saw a lot of Mark as he was staying at the cottage for the summer. Of course, Uncle Ralph was there most of the time with Aunt Dot coming up a couple weekends. All in all, it was a busy summer.

I also spent a few days with Dottie and Bruce. They sold their house in Rochester and are now living year round at Cross Lake. Don and I made a very quick trip to Bradenton to move some furniture that we had been keeping at Cross Lake. Five days from Cross Lake to Bradenton and back again! Not our idea of a fun trip.
So now we are ready to hit the road again. Its always hard to leave family but we are looking forward to new adventures. So stay tuned - I'll try to keep the blog more current.
