Again, the park was expensive, $33/night for electric only, sites were very close, and it was packed with lots of children. The location was wonderful though and we walked into town and enjoyed a beautiful musical fountain show in the evening.
We drove into Grand Haven one day and visited the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum. It's always surprising how the historical displays bring back so many memories, things that we have forgotten - Spiro Agnew's resignation, Watergate, impeachment of President Nixon, Vietnam.
To me, the most emotionally moving display was the actual staircase from the roof of the U.S. Embassy in Saigon. I'm sure all of us have very vivid memories of the Vietnam war and the images of people climbing this staircase to board helicopters to escape from the communist forces invading the city.
