We stopped for a couple days to see our good friend Sandie Seech in Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. We met Sandie when we were all living in Raleigh and have kept in touch ever since. She showed us around Pittsburgh and we had a great time visiting the Phipps Conservatory and riding the incline cable car to view the city skyline.
We also visited Friendship Hill National Historic Site and introduced Sandie to collecting National Park stamps. It was a very good visit and I hope we see her again soon.
Then on to Ohio where we spent the July 4th weekend at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It's a nice little campground but was very quiet over the weekend - no fireworks or celebrations at all. But it gave us a chance to clean the RV and get all the laundry done, plus grocery shopping and an oil change for the RV. Don managed to get in another round of golf and I collected a couple more national park stamps from the Wright Brothers/Dayton Aviation historical sites.
